Initial consultation
To start building a Scandi Home, begin with an initial consultation by contacting your local builder to discuss your project details, receive a rough estimate, and schedule a site inspection.
Site inspection
The site inspection involves assessing the property for access, slope, vegetation, and service locations, alongside a desktop review of lot boundaries and environmental risks.
Estimated time: 1 day
Preliminary plans and estimation
The builder will work with you to create preliminary plans considering your budget and prepare for a council meeting.
Estimated time: 4 weeks
Council Approval
Your project has been amended based on council feedback and submitted for approval.
Estimated time: from 30 days to 4 months
Manufacture and Construct
Once approved, the prefabrication of your project components starts simultaneously with the groundwork, which includes preparing the foundation (whether a concrete slab, timber, or steel subfloor) and connecting utilities. When the prefab components arrive at the site, your house will be constructed in just a few days. Following this, all internal fittings and fit-outs will be completed.
Estimated time: 6-9 months
